“The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.” – Acts 10:36-45
This is a beautiful passage, simple gospel full of power and revelation. It is instruction in ministry and a demonstration of revival. It is what most in ministry seek, but miss. They try to obtain it in every other way except the one given.
The power of God was with Jesus, anointed by the Holy Ghost to save the lost, heal the sick, and cast out demons because “God was with Him.” And why was God with Him? Because He was the Word!
As Peter began to tell Jesus’s story and to validate it with his own witness of the miraculous things he had seen of Him, the Holy Ghost began to move with anointing and power again and many more were filled with Him as they heard it!
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God, therefore it is the foolishness of preaching that God has chosen to save the lost! The miracles, signs, and wonders will follow after when men have believed in Him because that He has been preached! Remember that the Holy Spirit was given to help us to be a witness of Jesus! Not of ourselves, not of politics, or performances, or money, or personalities, or fancy buildings; but of Jesus and of Him only!
Preach the gospel, and Jesus who is the anointing will be with you! Not just any gospel, “this” gospel that Jesus gives us. Have you spent time with Him to get it? To be taught it? To learn the lessons of it and be corrected by it like Peter did? Have you tarried with Him until the Holy Ghost came and spoke to you of Him, like Jesus said He would? Not of himself, or yourself, or of other men, but of Jesus?
Sit with the Holy Spirit and be instructed of Jesus like Peter, Paul, and the Apostles did. Sit and learn His teachings and doctrine. Sit and hear His message and then when given permission, go out and speak it by the power of the Holy Spirit and God will be with you and in you and flowing out of you in an outpouring of grace, power, and anointing! As the word goes forth so will the glory of the Kingdom of heaven sent to validate the truth that God gave us. Jesus is the manifestation of the word of God proven you us in flesh and blood, preach that, bring that, release that, and revival will come. Because He is is revival, is He who is the Word!
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God….And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.” – John 1:1-2, 14-16
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” – Matthew 28:18-20
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 1:18-31
