Not Ashamed

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” – Romans‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭

Jesus told us in no uncertain way that we are to let our light shine among men that our Father in heaven may be glorified. The holy word of God never makes provision for the believer to be silent in either word or deed. In fact it quite convictingly states in Luke 9:26 that if we are ashamed of either Him or His Words before men, then He will be ashamed of us when we stand at judgment before His Heavenly Father.

The truth is that the gospel has to be both heard and seen to be believed. True faith will drive you to action and faith stirs faith! That is to say, that when you truly believe, it drives you to act upon that belief and when others see your actions proving what you believe, while hearing why you believe it, it stirs faith within them which they need in order to get what you have, salvation!

You see, nowhere in scripture are believers told that they can complain about the state of the world. They are told to go out, preach the gospel to every living thing, and be the change they want to see in the world. Why are you waiting for someone else to do it. God called you to be the difference, to shine your light, to walk in victory, to proclaim the wonderful works of the Lord, to show forth the love of Christ, to pray for the sick, to minister to the broken, to feed the widow, to comfort the downtrodden, to preach the gospel, and to prove that you really do believe what you claim.

Don’t be ashamed of the gospel, someone around you today needs to hear and see it! Some dark place needs to be brightened and enlightened by it. Some lie of the enemy being spoken into someone’s heart needs to be disproven by it. Live it, love it, speak it, be it! Manifest faith that it might stir faith in others, that they might manifest faith and stir it yet in others still. In this is the Kingdom of God both shown and grown, by faith. Not by faith imagined, but by faith lived. Therefore in this do we see that the just shall “live” by faith.
