I am so thankful that the power of God’s Spirit living in us, His plans in our lives, and His purposes for those plans are not changed by our emotional reasoning. The power of God is not altered by emotion, because He doesn’t change. Even though our emotions sometimes resemble a roller coaster, God remains steady.
God’s power and His plans are very much alive, and are unaltered by our “feelings“. That’s comforting to me, as I can often “feel” doubt, worry, and fear. Shame on me for allowing these “feelings” in, when I do. However, when this does happens, the devil plays on such emotions, and he twists them in such a way that they might lead my thoughts that day. But, God is steady and His power is not altered by these feelings, or the devils lies, and I am reminded again that at one word of my Father, the devil has to run.
I’m not letting the devil lead. I’m kicking him out before he even starts today. We have to fight back, but remember that it is not a physical battle. So if you dropped your sword in battle when you were distracted by your emotions, pick it back up now. It’s not over.
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places . Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” – Ephesians 6:11-13
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” – James 4:7
