“And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” – Matthew 8:23-26
Why was Jesus sleeping in the storm? Why would He tell them that they had little faith? Because He knew that the storm couldn’t stop them, nor would it sink them, for God was on their side. All it could do was scare them into turning back.
Don’t turn back when the devil tries to bluff you with fearful storms of trial and resistance. Be encouraged because if Hell is against you, then Heaven is with you! Speak to that storm in the Name of Jesus. Tell it to be still and rebuke the power behind it. It has to listen, the wind and waves still know His Name! Sometimes we forget who He is, but hell never does.
“But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!” – Matthew 8:27
