“Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.” – Romans 4:6-7
The salvation that is granted us by the precious blood of Jesus Christ shed at Calvary’s hill is the greatest miracle and blessing one could ever hope for. How often do you thank Him for His great atoning blood that takes away the sin of the world, bought with the price of His suffering? What a gift that we might be redeemed unto God the Father, communion with Christ, newness of life, and heaven everlasting not by anything that we preform but by believing in what He did for us. Not just saying that we believe but having a true revelation of what He actually did. That judgment was upon us, yet Christ willingly stepped in and took that judgment, in all of it’s brutality, in our place.
Understand that we faced sure judgment, but through Christ who blessed us with this great gift, we now have a choice. You see, that’s the thing about a gift, you have to choose to receive it. A blessing can be bestowed but a gift must be received. Therefore, when we choose to receive the gift of the atoning blood of Jesus applied to the door post of our hearts, we are then bestowed with the blessing of forgiveness, joy, peace, salvation, authority, power, dominion, and life eternal.
When you truly come to believe (not just in word but in heart) that Christ in love chose to suffer great affliction to offer you this gift of love represented by His very blood, you will receive it with love, fall in love, live in love, and obey because of love. In this, the greatest act of love becomes the greatest gift of love that renders the greatest blessings of love. Obedience unto righteousness, holiness unto purity, and faithfulness unto eternity. For it is not obligation that keeps the bride faithful to her groom, but love. Come to truly understand, believe, and receive the greatest gift of love ever offered and you will walk in holiness, not by obligation to works but by love in appreciation. In this are we blessed by His blessing toward us that we might become a blessing to Him.
“Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” – 1 John 5:1-4
“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” – Matthew 22:36-40
“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.” – 1 John 4:16-19
