Why It’s Better To Give Then To Receive

18a2Everyone loves a good encouraging message about the blessings of God but what most preachers leave out are the conditions laid out in scripture to receive those blessings. True Christianity is never about yourself. It’s about loving and serving God first, loving and serving others second, and forsaking self. Our prayers should not be focused around what we want but rather around seeking God to find out what He wants, and what He wants of us usually has to do with us helping someone else. When we see to the needs of others, God will see to it that someone else sees to ours, or else He will personally intervene on our behalf.

We are all members (are parts) of the body of Christ. When your hand is wounded only the other hand can effectively tend to it. That hand cannot as effectively tend to itself. Listening to twisted sermons about heaping baseless blessings on yourself and greedy getting won’t do anything but fluff your flesh. If you want to get, then give. If you need a blessing, then be a blessing. That’s how it works with God. Those that reject themselves are excepted by Him, those that humble themselves are exalted by Him, and those that give of themselves, are given unto by Him. In this we see that it is truly better to give then to receive, for when we seek to receive from men, what small rewards we get, but when we give, then we will receive from God, and how much grander are the rewards that He is able to give.
