“Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” – 1 Corinthians 4:18-20
We all know those people that talk a good talk but their walk doesn’t line up with there talk. Their words are convincing, exciting, and pleasant to the flesh but their walk is powerless, void of conviction and validation through the undeniable power of the Holy Spirit.
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” – 2 Timothy 3:5
Sadly it often takes people a while to see through the self hype, self justification, and self validation of the talkers, and still some never do. However, it is God Himself who justifies and validates the selfless humble obedient doers.
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” – James 1:22
You see, through out scripture it was not those who simply heard God’s words that experienced God’s power manifested through their lives, but those who heard and obeyed. When we speak our own words, we then have to back those words up with our own power. However, when we take the time to humble ourselves, seek God, hear His words, and trust in them enough to obey them in faith, then He will back His words up with His power.
“And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” – Mark 16:20
You need only to trust and obey what He tells you to do and to say, and He will work with you and fight for you, justifying and validating His Words, His Works, and His faithful servants with signs, wonders, and miracles. This is why signs wonders and miracles follow those that believe. Because you see, to seek, hear, believe against all hope, logic, or understanding, and obey is true faith perfected in completion, and I have never seen the faithful forsaken.
“Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.” – Romans 8:33
God’s word will not return void, it will accomplish that which it set out to do, even if it has to preform miracles to do it. So seek the Lord for a word from Him, hear it, believe it in faith enough to obey it, and watch God do the impossible to preform it as you see miracles come to validate the message with power and promise.
“By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.” – Hebrews 11:17-19
“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.” – Romans 4:16-22
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” – Isaiah 55:8-12
You see it’s time to stop trying to work things out in your own understanding, power, and authority, because you have none. This is why our works are fruitless at best and more often them not produce bad rotten poisonous fruits that do more damage then good. Instead, do as all the greats of scripture did! Become a true servant to the master of all good works, the Lord God almighty. In all things, let Him be your boss, humble yourself and join His crew, take His orders, preform them in trusting faith, and get the job done right. Do this and He will equip you for the job at hand, supply all your needs in the process, and when opposition rises against you for it; all you have to say is, “take it up with the boss”, and His authority will back you up with power unto the promise of the finished work.
