Dying Daily

“I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.”

Dying daily is the duty of every Christian.  To be ever watchful of the “old man” or “sin nature” that is lurking in shadows of our lives, since coming to the divine nature that we receive upon accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

For us as Christians to walk the straight and narrow, we must crucify the flesh daily.  Putting aside all selflessness and and strive toward the mark of the high calling.  Philippians 3:14 “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

When we crucify the flesh, our spirit get stronger and we are lead by the spirit.  If we crucify NOT the flesh, then our spirit is weaker and we are lead by the flesh into all form of unrighteousness if we continue there in.  Galatians 5:24  “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”

Romans 8:5-13

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

So every morning in pray, one should pray that God would help and provide grace to crucify our flesh, die to self, and walk in the Spirit, living unto Christ.  Be therefore mindful that the enemy is constantly seeking how he may slip temptation into your life, that would lead you to sin.  Strive always in prayer and in the Spirit, that by walking in the Spirit you shall not so easily be fooled.

God bless you and keep you
