“And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” -Luke 10:17-19
When God sends you out, He sends you out with power and authority. The modern church lacks power because all too often they go of their own accord. They go because they want to, they go because they saw someone else go and wanted to be seen as they were, they go because their denomination sent them, but rarely because God sent them. So they go unprepared for the enemy that lay in wait, they go unaware of the snares that are being set before them, they go unequipped for the temptations being set up for them, and they fall.
Even among the church, ministers, and brethren, the enemy lays snares for us daily, seeking to destroy God’s gifts, callings, and plans for our lives. Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, but Satan hunts brethren from among the brethren, masquerading “as a lion” seeking those whom he can destroy from among the brethren. He is a master counterfeiter but their is no truth or life in him, for his unfruitful works only lead to spiritual death and destruction and the pleasing of all things fleshly.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” – 1 Peter 5:8-9
God however, is more then willing to show us the counterfeits if we are willing to seek and trust Him on it. Often times in our lives God calls us to a season of waiting, praying, seeking, seeing, hearing, and understanding His clear and precise instructions so that when He sends us out it will be with wisdom, power, and authority. Not of ourselves where which there is no authority, but of Him who will Himself validate His message by whatever means necessary. For God will always validate both the message and the messenger by His own hand when they are sent by His own hand.
“Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city.” – Acts 8:5-8
So if you desire to be used of God with power and authority then commit to submit unto His authority, that you might walk in it and have it manifest through you. For God’s authority is the only true authority, and outside of it there is no authority that is, or that can stand against it.
Seek the Lord, get His words, instructions, and message; go where He tells you to go, say what He tells you to say, and do what He tells you to do even when it stands against your own understanding, and His authority will go with you and the message that He has placed within you to deliver. True miracles come to validate the message and only when it has been sent by the miracle maker. So stop, seek, pray, listen, and obey; trusting in Him, His words, instructions, and ability to bring them about. Not trusting in flesh, men, money, programs, denominations, or any other toothless counterfeit lion, but in the power and authority of the true Lion of the tribe of Judah! When we walk under the banner of our own authority we will find ourselves running in fear “from” the roar of the counterfeit lion, but when we walk under God’s authority we will find ourselves running “with” the Roaring of the Lion of the tribe of Judah. So don’t be deceived by the counterfeits, wait for the real roar, then run with it with Authority!
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” – Matthew 28:18-20
