If we truly trust in God it will drive us to praise God, in the storms and out of the storms. Whether you are going through something or coming out of something! We are always going to go through something, come out of something, or are about to go through something. So praise God, praise the name of Jesus! There is something about praise, that not only drives God to come thru for us but He does something inside of us when we bring praise to His name, that brings us closer to the heart of God. So praise His Holy Name. When Paul and Silas were imprisoned, they didn’t worry or stress out, they prayed and praised God.
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.” – Acts 16:25-26
We can also look at this verse from a spiritual aspect, when we praise God with all our heart, body , and soul; bands are broken and spiritual things take place, things we don’t even realize happen in the spiritual when we praise God. Chains fall off, chains we might not even know exist, whether it be on us, a family member, co-worker, or friend. So just praise God in everything because He is worthy to be praised. The book of Psalms is full of prayer and praises to God, no matter what they were going through they praised Him. He knows what we are going through and how much we can bare. The thing is we don’t have to bare it alone. We can have rest, we can come before God and lay our burdens down, give it all to Him and just praise Him. He wants His children to trust Him. He is our strong hold in the day of trouble.
“The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.” – Nahum 1:7
“For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.” – Isaiah 25:4
He is our refuge a place of safety.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” – Psalms 91:1-2
If we truly trust God, we will praise Him no matter what our storms are, or how bad they seem. We serve a big God, and He loves His children very much. He knows what we can take, He knows us better then we know ourselves. God loves the praises of His children.
“Praise ye the Lord : for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.” – Psalms 147:1
The word comely in the concordance is another word for beautiful.
So when we praise God its beautiful in His sight.
“Rejoice in the Lord , O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.” – Psalms 33:1
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.” – Psalms 28:7-8
So no matter what, give God praise! He is there for you in the good and the bad. He will never leave you nor forsake you. God loves you.
