Most people do not like discipline/correction and end up hurting themselves in the end, raising disobedient children, and breaking God’s heart! They have problems and just simply do not know HOW to deal with it, and want to figure it out on their own instead of asking God for help. So then when correction comes the enemy puts that lie in their minds that no one loves them, but that is not true
“Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.” – Isaiah 43:4
Just because God disciplines us does not mean He doesn’t love us, it simply means our “problems” are not acceptable to Him and we need to crusify our flesh and learn to control ourselves. Think about a child that keeps going by the hot stove and you tell them a thousand time not to, but they do it anyway and get burned! Afterward they learned the hard way that you care for them and only wanted to protect them as you bandage their wounds. Your heart is broken because your child is in pain, but you know there is no need to react with crisis because they have surely learned their lesson.
God is a loving father and He feels like that also when we choose to learn the hard way. It is not because He wants you to, its because you chose to! Teaching your children to control themselves is far more effective than trying to control them and God knows this is true about us as well. That’s why God allows free will! If you do not want to obey what He says when He says it, then you will just have to learn the hard way that He had our best interest at heart. He is always here to help us, guide us and give us strength to do it but it is our decision to obey or not and if you choose not to, then you are only breaking His heart and hurting yourself. If you truly love God you will listen and obey! He is a good good Father, He will never lead us wrong! All of His ways are good!
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” – John 14:26
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
