“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” – Romans 8:11-17
All too often, as Christians, we forget who our daddy is, that we are the sons and daughters of the most high King. That all power, authority, and dominion was given to Jesus Christ and that through His blood we have become joint heirs with Him, gaining not just His Name, but also the power, authority, and dominion that comes with it. Understand that to be a “joint heir” means to inherit equally of the Father. Therefor, as a child of the King and a brother or sister to Christ we have the same authority, power, and inheritance as Christ through His blood and Name.
“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” – Ephesians 1:18-23
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” – John 14:12
I have all faith that when I am on my knees before God, I can stand before the armies of hell fearless, with all confidence and assurance of victory! Now understand that this great authority is not without condition. Romans 8 tells us that it is yielded only to those who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit because only those who have crucified the lust of the flesh and chosen to follow the will of God by the leading of the Holy Spirit are truly walking in the grace (or favor and power) of God. The good news is however, that if you’re not there yet all you have to do is humbly ask God to forgive your sins, wash you in the redemptive blood of Jesus, fill you with His Holy Spirit, help you to live in obedience to it, and believe that He (being God of all) can do it! Then from that point on, every time Satan tries to deceive you with the lie that you can’t resist him, that he is stronger, that you are weak, that God is far off, stand in confidence and authority beholding a child of the King and say: “My flesh is weak but my Spirit is strong because it is not my own but Christ’s who lives in me! I am a child of the King. I know who my daddy is! And you must obey His words spoken through me! Satan you are under my feet! Submit to the authority of God in the mighty Name of Jesus, you are defeated! The Lord rebuke you!”
Stop whimpering! Stop crying! Stop cowering! Stop being bullied by Satan and the kingdom of hell! Know your daddy! Know your King! Know your inheritance! Know your authority! Speak it! Believe it! Use it! Claim the land and expand the Kingdom of God. Remember, the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you!
“Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail. Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the Lord shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies. Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion. But they know not the thoughts of the Lord, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor. Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the Lord, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.” – Micah 4:9-13
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31
