“For there is no respecter of persons with God.” – Romans 2:11
“Then Peter opened his mouth and said, of a truth I percieve that God is no respecter of persons.” – Acts 10:34
As children of God we are called to be Christ like, and if God is no respecter of persons we shouldn’t be either. If you are a child of God know this, that God loves you just as much as He loves His other children no matter what. If someone is being a respecter of persons toward you, its not of God.
“To have respect of persons is not good; for for a piece of bread that man will transgress” – Proverbs 28:21
Transgress = “Pasha” in Hebrew, which means: to break away, trespass, offend, rebel, or rebel against
If God is no respecter of person then why would we be one? Whether it be family, friends, or a stranger we should want what God wants for that person, whether it be in ministry, a job, relationship, etc. We should want everything for that person just as much as we would a family member or friend. If we are being a respecter of persons by seeing a saved soul being placed in danger by an unsaved soul, but wanting that unsaved soul saved at the expense of the saved soul because its a family member or friend, its wrong and its not of God.
“These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to be a respecter of persons in judgement.” – Proverbs 24:23
“Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you, take heed and do it. For their is no iniquity with the Lord our God. Nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.” – 2 Chronicles 19:7
We need to ask ourselves are we being a respecter of persons, whether its towards a best friend, sister, son, niece, children, dad, etc. Whether saved or unsaved, are we taking sides, are letting them get away with things that you wouldn’t allow anyone else to do. Its not right and God does not approve, He actually considers it to be sin.
“But, if ye have respect of persons ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.” – James 2:9
“But he that doeth wrong shall recieve for the wrong which he hath done and their is no repect of persons.” – Colossians 3:25
We need to ask ourselves are we being a respecter of persons. Ask God to reveal to you if you are and if so then toward whom. Ask God to forgive you and to help you change your ways and remember God loves you and He is just to forgive us of all our sins. But know this, He loves all His children the same.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9
