“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” – Psalms 90:12
Modern Science states that the average human lifespan is about 70-75 years, a little more if you’re healthy and strong. The reason for this is that the human heart wares out at a pretty consistent rate. Each of us has a certain amount of time in which to make a difference in this life for which we will be one day judged, how have you been spending yours? Have you been working wisely? Have you been investing in people, their hearts, their minds, and their souls? Have you spent your time seeking God for His Will and Instructions that you may spend your time wisely, effecting lives and effectively furthering God’s kingdom? Have you been storing up for yourselves treasures and rewards in heaven, or laboring in vain to build earthly kingdoms and store up earthly treasures that moth and rust will soon destroy (Matthew 6:19-20)?
“The days of our years are threescore years and ten (70 years); and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years (80 years), yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” – Psalms 90:10-12
Think about it, God has created us all with a purpose, God has a specific plan and will for each of us on this earth. There are things He has called us to lay down, obediences He has called us to submit to, ministries and purposes He has called us to walk in, people He has called us to reach, and lives He has called us to touch, and we only have a short set amount of time in which to do it. Lay down all selfish desires and pride, and submit to something bigger then you; to plans bigger then your plans. Fear The Lord and what He will say to you on the day of Judgment concerning His will, plans, and purpose for you on this earth that you may be humbled and walk in wisdom, for the fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Psalms 111:10). Don’t waste a moment more seeking after your own plans or working in your own logic, for the time is short. Seek God daily for His will, and walk in it that you may redeem the time you have left wisely.
“Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” – Psalms 90:11-12
“Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” – Ephesians 5:14-17
“Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.” – Hosea 10:12
