Often times we busy and burden ourselves with trying to figure everything out. We focus on the carnal issues and not the spiritual solutions. We try to take control of every aspect of our lives and sometimes even the lives of those around us, to no avail. We plan everything out and it makes so much sense in our heads but no matter how much time and energy we put into those plans, they never seem to work out the way we thought they would and we end up all the more burdened, confused, wearied, and discouraged.
Eventually we come to our breaking point and we finally, out of shear necessity, give up and give it to God. Then something miraculous happens; the fear, stress, anxiety, exhaustion, it all just melts away and things begin to fall into place. We realize that the burden is no longer ours to bare as God begins to work everything out in impossible ways.
We breathe a sigh of relief as we realize that we no longer have to figure out what we need to do to fix everything, only to end up more broken ourselves and, most times, in a bigger mess then we started with. We realize that God already knows how to fix everything, we need only to seek His instructions, obey, and let the burden of achievement fall on Him. After all, He is more able then we are to bare it. When we stop trying to be the boss and give that roll back to God, he becomes the liable party when it comes to how and when the job gets done. When we stop trying to please everyone else, which is exhaustingly impossible and emotionally breaking, and start focusing on trying to please Him, just Him, it becomes so much simpler and attainable. When we set our focus on Him (the solution) and not on everything else (the problems), all the burdens, anxieties, and the sense of being overwhelmed by everything the enemy is constantly throwing at you just breaks down as you let go, and let God.
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Matthew 6:31-33
“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” – Matthew 10:29-31
