If You Don’t Quit, You Win

don't_give_up“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” – Galatians 6:9

We all have those moments of absolute physical and spiritual exhaustion. Those times when we feel so beat up and worn down from the battles that we just want to lay down and give up. Just for a little while, we tell ourselves. “I’m not quitting, just taking a break.” , we say… but that break, breaks us. We loose our focus, our drive, our resolve, our faith and most times (at least for that particular battle) we never get it back.

It is in these moments that we have to be reminded that the devil is a liar and “we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us”! (Philippians 4:13) We should also be reminded that, unlike God, the devil is not all powerful, he is not omnipresent, and he is not omnipotent. He has limited resources and he does not waste them for no reason. If he is fighting you insanely hard and using his limited resources to get you to turn back or give up, then that’s all the more reason to keep going, because he is trying to stop something great. So be encouraged and confirmed in your course, the level of attack is always a measure of the potential of the blessing it’s trying to stop!

When God has a victory, blessing, or plan for us nothing can take it away, but we can give it away. The devil can not cause us to loose the race but he can convince us to forfeit it. You see the devil really has no power over you in and of his self, really his only power is to convince you to lay down yours. So don’t let him. Instead of being wearied by the attacks, be encouraged that the devil is in a panic trying to stop something amazing. Stay the course! If you don’t quit, you will win.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31
